This is a very good fishfinder and depth indicator. But despite the name....IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH GPS!
br /This is just a fishfinder.

Depth finder is excellent, easy to use, fine picture; temperature reads about 3 degrees low. Neeeded a portable, unfortunately didn't know Garmin offered this option until I saw it in the instructions! With a little improvisation and some leftover parts from my last depth finder, I made it portable. Generally very pleased with it, certainly price is right.

For the money, this fish finder works great. Installation is fairly simple. The lead wire could have a plug-in so as to be able to run through installed wire chases.
Better than expected

I didn't expect much for the price I paid, but was pleasently surprised. The screen is very easy to read, and the automatic features actually work without being fine tuned. Far and away the nicest feature about this unit is the dual beam transducer. It has great accuracy not only under the boat, but off to the sides. Lastly the option of mounting the transducer to the trolling motor without having to buy an adapter was icing on the cake.

This is by far the best fishfinder in the price range. This is a VERY durable product, I love the low energy comsumption. I found it pretty straight forward to use and don't need to carry the manual around. The resolution is good, screen is viewable in daylight and the readings seem accurate. It has already made a diffrence in our fishing.

I previously sold and installed marine electronics so I know the Garmin sells a good product. This product will last if you keep it out of the weather.

I purchased this a while back and was using it on my small boat for estuary fishing. I have since upgraded to a Garmin 300C color unit but I am having problems with getting a good reading from it. I am almost thinking of going back to the FF140! It has a nice large screen, good clarity and I had no trouble identifying features despite its grayscale screen. Menus were easy to operate and it simply worked very well. Its definitely one of the better budget BW fish finders ont he market today in my opinion.
