Description:
In building the Drive GPS 140, Pharos has answered every need asked by mobile professionals. Starting off with a thin design for easy transporting, the 140 contains street level maps of the U.S. and Canada preloaded and routing software that delivers voice prompted, turn by turn driving directions. GPS signals are acquired with the highly sensitive SiRF StarIII and routes are clearly shown on the large, 4.0" color touch screen display. The hands free Bluetooth feature for cell phones helps to keep eyes on the road when discussing business and also comes in handy for in-vehicle multi-person conversations with customers or the office. For added entertainment when driving long distances, the 140 also comes equipped with a photo viewer, an MP3 player and a video player. Music files as well as video files can be heard in full sound when connected to a vehicles sound system via the speaker outlet jack on the 140.

After opening the box, it was ready to use with nice 2gb card full of maps and POIs. only 50mb space left in card for your MP3, Pictures and videos. Well, smart me, bought 4gb sd card for it. Now I am ready loaded with my MP3s, photos and what not, to use 4gb card. Lets see what happen:
br /1. My own home is not in GPS, it is 4 yr old home! Disappointed! well went to website to download the latest as Garmin allows you to download the latest upto purchase date. Need reg# and UPC# for registration, which didn't come in box. emailed amazon invoice to customer service and got that. thanks i didn't had to fax info. Also customer service told me that maps came on SD card are the latest and greatest they have. very disappointed! So no more maps updated in last 4 yrs.
br /2. Started MP3 player, showed first file invalid, too bad! went to second folder and atleast the 2nd file worked. then I noticed it is showing couple of files invalid. player does not work in background when you are on maps! Also it takes you to first folder every time you go to play mp3.
br /3. Picture viewer is nice and have reasonable interface.
br /
br /Also POIs and addresses are horrible to search.
br /
br /Well I am going to return mine! shop for a better one. Price is not too bad on this and that was the only thing attracted apart from bundle of so called features.
Can't believe the negativity

Wow, I can't believe the negativity. I got one a couple a months ago as an upgrade to a competitor's brand that I had used for many years. I love the blue tooth. I can make a call either from my contact's list or from the device itself. As far as routing capabilities it and I have disagreed a few times, but that is nothing unusual as I use to do that with my other one as well. For the most part I use a GPS for the "last mile", I know my way around my city, got that from using the other one and disagreeing all the time. I use a GPS in other cities that I am unfamiliar with as well.

br /I have read other reviews elsewhere saying that they had to press some small button to bring up the navigation, not true the big silver one works just fine for me. As for playing MP3's, I might use that at a hotel or something, but I have other device's dedicated for that. It does come with a pair of ear buds, sweet. The photo feature is easy to use and nice to be able show bigger pictures of something than just from your phone.

br /I like mine a lot, I also like the fact that I save a bunch of money from other companies would have wanted for a similar product.

I had one for two weeks.
br /1st It kept saying my home address was at the nearest corner.
br /2nd It would say you arrived at your destination way to early or way to late. Took you to the neareast street corner.
br /3rd Every time I tried to get help it was always closed.
br /
br /I would not recommend this product to anybody.

This $320 to $360 product does not perform as advertised. For E.g., it can not find a main street that even a cheap GPS finds! It is hard to work with as well. Hope somebody likes it, but not me.

My Drive 140 came without the 2 Gb SD chip in the box. Customer support would not send me one. I had to supply my own SD chip and am now in the process of downloading maps from Pharos website - three per day limit! The GPS is underpowered so the display lags behind real-time - if you are using it to navigate to a location you can easily miss a turn. All in all, I'm very disappointed with the product, but even more with the customer support.

It has a nice portable design, working without any issue. 4-inch diagonal touch screen is a big plus.
