This review is for the Brunton Atlas MNS.
br /I compared the latest Brunton and Lowrance GPS receivers. Lowrance informed me by email that they in fact make the receiver for Brunton, which after looking at both it is obvious; they are almost identical! Except the Lowrance has a color screen and is much less expensive. In fact if you get the Lowrance Plus version with the included Mapcreate Topo 6 CD set and card reader you can save over $250.
br /Either receiver will give you excellent results in the field. Battery life is fairly limited though. Lithium batteries last the longest but seem to be somewhat larger diameter than alkaline making the battery cover hard to close.
